Don Rohrer, former USLA President (1998-2003) and Retired Chief Lifeguard of Los Angeles County, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, after a short-term illness at the age of 82. Chief Rohrer was a founding member of USLA in 1964 and retired in 1996 after 44 years of dedicated and faithful service to the residents of Los Angeles County. Chief Rohrer was instrumental in transitioning Ocean Lifeguards into the Fire Department in 1994.
