Applications for the next two-year term for the USLA Open and Youth National Teams Management are now open. The President will appoint a Selection Committee to review applications and assign interviews to qualified candidates. The Selection Committee will make final recommendations to the USLA President for official appointments subject to the Board of Director’s approval.

Please note, this is a volunteer position. Team Managers will be responsible for the development of National Teams and will take on some of the following roles:

• Manage the team's coaches, athletes, and any contracts
• Develop and implement team scouting, selection, and training processes for athletes and staff
• Serve as the Team Public Information Officer (PIO) for media briefings
• Maintain uniform standards
• Liaise with the athletes and coaches on administrative functions
• Work with the National Teams Coordinator to plan travel, schedule, and accommodations while abroad

This 2 year appointment will focus on international competitions including the International Surf Rescue Challenge taking place in New Zealand in November of 2025, and the Lifesaving World Championships being held in Morocco in 2026. During this selection cycle, the selected Team Managers will participate in the selection of National Teams’ coaches and support staff positions as needed per event. The selection of coaching and support staff will commence once the Team Managers have been selected.
