Hotel Rates, Fees & Details:

  • Saturday - Sunday (April 12 - 13): $189 + tax
  • Monday – Thursday (April 14 - 17):
    • One King bed $135 + tax
    • Two King beds $135 + tax
  • Non-USLA Members (spouses & partners) can pay for their breakfast at check-in
  • Complimentary Daily Overnight Self-Parking
  • Shuttle to downtown Newport
  • Saltwater Heated Pool and Towels
  • Special thanks to the Wyndham Newport for waiving the $15 per day shuttle and facility fee

Educational Conference Agenda: Business formal or business casual is to be worn at the Educational Conference (business formal attire is to be worn by those chairing the conference).

  • 9:00AM: Educational Conference - Atlantic Pavilion
    • Lightning Strike Injuries, Fearing the Wrath of Zeus, Dr. Matthew Letizia, DO, FACOEP – Covers the science behind lightning, the mechanisms of strikes, and essential prehospital strategies for triaging and managing lightning strike victims.

    • What is the Economic Value of a Lifeguard, Ryan Clark – Examines the lifeguard shortage through an economic lens, analyzing wage theory, market challenges, and potential solutions to improve recruitment, retention, and working conditions.

    • Power of Surf Therapy & Collaboration with Lifeguards, Christopher Antao – Highlights surf therapy as a transformative tool for neurodivergent children and examines the expanding role of lifeguards in community outreach.

    • The Medical Reserve Corp - An Untapped Community Resource, Janna Lawrence – Explores how MRC units, particularly Behavioral Health MRCs, can support critical incident response, stress management, and employee well-being, helping lifesaving professionals build stronger, more resilient communities.
  • 12:00PM - 1:00PM: Lunch - Easton's Pavilion
