The 2025 USLA National Lifeguard Championships will be held in Huntington State Beach, CA from August 6–9. Details can be found at www.uslanationals.org. Who may participate:
This competition is open to current Professional, Alumnus, Life, and Gold Junior USLA Members. Approved international competitors who are current members of a national lifesaving organization that is a Full Member of the International Life Saving Federation are also eligible to compete, subject to approval. (Send a request for approval to lifesavingsport@usla.org).

Unfortunately, Associate Members are NOT eligible to compete, but we welcome you to attend and cheer our lifesavers on!

USLA Nationals Event Registration Information:

When competitors register for the event, they will also be provided the opportunity to select the single competitor events they wish to compete in. Please read the complete list of Frequently Asked Questions about how this will work.

Team Captains will manage all team events. If you are a Team Captain who needs a login, please email scoring@usla.org.

Entry Fees:

National Lifeguard Adult Championship Entry Fees:

• July 1 – August 3 (Midnight Eastern Time): $150
• August 4 – 9 (Eastern Time): $175

National Junior Lifeguard & U19 Championship Entry Fees:

• July 1 – August 3 (Midnight Eastern Time): $70
• August 4 – 6 (Eastern Time): $100

The following is important information from the Lifesaving Sport Committee for all competitors who will be attending the 2025 USLA National Lifeguard Championships in Huntington State Beach, CA.

90m Beach Sprint Sign Ups: Friday 10am – 4pm at Scoring Table
Despite choosing the event when registering, we are asking competitors to come to the scoring table and re-sign up for the event so we can get a realistic number of individuals who want to compete in this event on Saturday morning.

Event Registration Deadlines:
The deadline to register for ALL events is Sunday, August 3 at 11:59 PM EDT.

Adult Start Times:

• The competition will be starting daily at 7:00 AM. Please allow enough time for warm-up.
• There will be one call per event—first and final. The first call each morning will be at 6:30 AM.
• Events will not be delayed due to craft conflicts. Make arrangements in advance.

It is your responsibility to know the rules: Please familiarize yourself with the events you plan to participate in.

Teams who wish to compete in the "B" or "C" Division: Please review the rules. No exceptions will be accepted.

• All Chapter Teams are considered in the "A" Division unless a request and verification are submitted annually.
  • A Division = 201+ Lifeguards
  • B Division = 51–200 Lifeguards
  • C Division = 1–50 Lifeguards
• Teams wishing to compete in the B or C Division must submit a request that includes a letter from the agency’s administration verifying the number of employed lifeguards. Requests and verification letters must be sent to the Lifesaving Sport Chair by August 1, 2025: lifesavingsport@usla.org

On-site registration: is time-consuming and may cause delays or missed events. We strongly encourage all competitors to complete their registration online in advance using the links in the left menu.
